A forklift key gets handed around, left in the ignition, or used by whoever's closest when a truck needs moving. None of those people may be certified to drive it. If something goes wrong, "we're not sure who was on it" is not where you want to be standing.

Safety T-Lock replaces the key with a programmable code switch. Up to 99 individual user codes can be set, and any code you're not using can be disabled — so leavers and uncertified staff simply don't have access, without needing to physically collect a key. Enter the wrong code, or no code, and the truck doesn't power up.

It also answers the question after the fact, not just before. The system logs which operator code was last used, so a supervisor can identify who was driving if there's an incident to look into. An internal clock tracks total operating hours and flags a maintenance alert at the 250-hour mark — useful on its own even without the access control, since it takes the guesswork out of "when did this truck last get serviced."

Where the seat is fitted with the right sensor, the system can also power down automatically a set few minutes after the operator leaves the seat — so a truck left running unattended doesn't stay live. (We note this as an optional integration in the manufacturer material, not something built into every installation — confirm it with us for your specific truck.)

This isn't a WSH-mandated device — there's no regulation requiring keyless access on a forklift. The case for it is operational: certified-operator control is already your legal duty under WSH training rules, and a code switch is a practical way to enforce that duty at the ignition, rather than relying on people to check certification cards in the yard.
