What is a VNA forklift?
VNA stands for Very Narrow Aisle. A normal reach truck needs an aisle close to 3 metres wide to turn and lift a pallet. A VNA truck does not turn in the aisle at all. The forks rotate instead, so the aisle only has to be as wide as the truck plus a small buffer, around 1.6 to 1.9 metres.
Every metre you shave off each aisle becomes new racking space. That is the whole idea.
Why VNA: the space you get back
A VNA setup can add 30 to 40 percent more pallet positions to the same floor. If your warehouse is full but your lease is not up, VNA is usually cheaper than moving to a bigger unit.

Man-up vs man-down VNA
A man-down VNA keeps the operator at floor level while the forks lift the pallet. Simple, fast, good up to about 7.5m. A man-up VNA lifts the operator with the load, so they can pick and place accurately at high levels, up to 13.5m and custom builds to 18m.
