What Is a VNA Truck, Really?

VNA stands for Very Narrow Aisle. Simple as that.

A normal reach truck needs an aisle close to 3 metres wide to turn and lift. A VNA truck does not turn in the aisle at all. The forks rotate instead. So the aisle only needs to be as wide as the truck plus a small buffer. Around 1.6 to 1.9 metres.

Shrink every aisle by a metre or more, and those saved metres become new racking rows.

1. Measure your current aisle width. Most Singapore warehouses run 2.8 to 3.5m aisles.
2. Count your aisles.
3. Multiply aisles by roughly 1.2m of width saved with VNA.
4. Divide by 2.4m (one racking row plus clearance).

That result is roughly how many NEW racking rows you could fit. For a typical 20,000 sq ft warehouse with 8 aisles, that is often 3 to 4 extra rows. Hundreds of extra pallet positions without moving anywhere.
